About Coach

Team sports are the best. Being on a team held me accountable to showing up and giving it my all. I did Paddling, Baseball, Volleyball and Basketball throughout High School. I like workouts that don’t feel like workouts. I danced hula for 7 years. During college I took up Taekwondo and earned my 2nd Degree Black Belt. I love Hot Yoga. I found CrossFit in 2010 where every day I couldn’t wait to get back to class so that I could work on a new skill or add more weight to the bar. CrossFit finally gave me the challenge and reward system that I used to have in school sports but no longer had as an adult. It’s like I earn a gold star every day!

Turning Point

My turning point was when I stopped trying to be a super model. It wasn’t until I found CrossFit that I finally accepted my body for what it is and what it can do. It didn’t matter that I wasn’t a size 0 (which most Asian girls are) or that I didn’t look like every girl on the cover of magazines. I was no longer obsessed with the weight on the scale, but instead focused on how much weight I could move on the bar.

Motivation & Passion

When I started CrossFit, it was rare to find anyone that had heard of it. The more time I spent at the gym, the more I wanted to give back and share what I learned from my awesome coaches. With CrossFit gyms everywhere, you have choices. Every gym has it’s own personality and their version of CrossFit. Walking though the doors for the first time is a big deal. If you can do that, my job is to ensure you have a good workout, meet some cool people and can walk the next day.
